Venue, http://www.venuecom.com/Hosting/hosting_iCal.htm,
offers a WebDAV enabled calendar (iCal) account for $25/year. It appears to be based on PHP iCal, but may certainly be worth the cost — at least for the transition between RTPnet and any WordPress/Dreamhost based account.

Hmmm…
Okay, I tried to install this on Dreamhost (the server that’s running this blog application).
The read-only mode seems to be working okay at
http://ncwu.sgtst.com/calendar
but the problem seems to be finding a client that will update the ICS files.
I tried working with the Mozilla Calendar extension for Firefox, but couldn’t get that working reliably with WEBDav. Switched to FTP (embedding the user name and password in the address of the remote calendar - ftp://user:pw@host/directory/xxx.ics
but things are still a bit squirrely, and I ended up editing things on the server directly.
Will look for another Windows client — and check with Ian again to see if the Mac user interface works better.
